In 2012 I couldn't stand it anymore, barely scratching by on a living and getting chewed down on with my pricing by ungrateful customers.  See, we had just pivoted 3 years earlier from design build landscape construction to servicing sprinkler systems (like a plumber but for the lawn sprinklers).  We were charging hourly and fighting for every penny all the while being worked down on our prices!  

Something HAD TO change or it was lights out.  We took the next 3 months and scoured everything we could about business operations and best practice companies, no one had a “Sprinkler service company” solution.  So we had to take what we had learned and adapt it to fit our business.

That year we changed everything about our value presentation, pricing, and work order processes.  We moved to flat rate pricing and got rid of hourly pricing.  We changed how we answered the phone and how we dressed.

After scrapping the old way of doing service work, we get to enjoy our clients, we build lifelong relationships on value, and this has allowed us to be the premier service provider in our market.

Since that summer we've grown our service team from myself and 3 techs to over 15 techs. We now have over 700 reviews with a 4.7 rating and generate over 2 million dollars a year in revenue.
